How we can help you
We will help you find a rental property to suit you. You can register with us in order to receive emails of new rental homes to our register. We also have a full listing on our relevant website pages.
We will accompany you and show you the property and answer any queries that you may have.
We will liaise with the landlord if necessary.
Accepting a Property
When you are viewing a property, please bear in mind that rental homes are accepted on an ‘as seen’ basis and any issues or questions will need to be raised and dealt with prior to references being undertaken.
Upon accepting a property, we will carry out:
- A credit check
- A bank status enquiry
- Referencing from your employer and previous landlord.
We will require certain information from you in order to start gathering the references.
Please note: Hunt Estates do not charge you the tenant for this service.
As a prospective tenant, you will need to provide:
- Proof of your current address (i.e. utility bill),
- Photo ID (i.e. Passport or Driving Licence)
- Current Registration Card
Please note: occupation cannot take place unless a Registration Card has been issued.
Subject to your references being acceptable, we will then agree a suitable date be chosen for the lease to commence.
We will liaise with you regarding:
- The terms of the lease
- Signing of the lease
- Inventory of contents
- Schedule of condition and photographs
- Signing of the Condition Report
- Payment of monies
- Handover of keys
Rent and deposit
You will need to ensure that the deposit and first month’s rental are cleared funds in advance of the commencement date.
The monthly rental payment will be required to be paid in advance by standing order, directly to the landlord’s bank account.
The deposit will be held by my|deposits Jersey.
The landlord will give you a receipt for the deposit.
At the end of the tenancy you will liaise with the landlord or the appointed agent for the final check out and return of your deposit.
Hunt Estates make no charge to the tenant throughout this process. We act for the Landlord who pays our fee.
